Small
Business Ideas
If you
spend any time working from the road, be sure to equip your
car with a small "mobile office." Include items
that you might need while working from the road: pens, marker,
elastic, business envelopes, note-pad, postage stamps, extra
business cards, a few sheets of letterhead, etc. Put these
items in a small tote for easy access in your trunk or backseat.

Have
a couple different professional photos taken of you. You never
know when you will need one for a flyer, article or other
promotional materials.
- ideas company tip
Create
a map to your office that you can easily fax to first-time
visitors.
- ideas company tip
Keep in
mind that when using coloured paper for promotions it will
change the colour of the toner or ink on the page. This is
true for inkjet printers, as well as commercial offset printing
and digital coping.

Design
and Layout Ideas
95%
of flyers use a centered alignment, not because it is most
effective just because it is easy. Be bold and try something
different.
- ideas company tip
Instead
of a general brochure for your entire business, create single
sales sheet for each product or service you provide. This
way you can provide specific, detailed information to your
potential clients.
- ideas company tip
Don't
be afraid of white space. Our eyes cannot resist contrast
so try having very small text with lots of white space in
your next ad.
- ideas company tip
Headings
and subheadings help your reader to get a general idea of
what you are communicating at a glance. So make them a focal
point.
- ideas
company tip
If your
piece is very text-heavy with not many headers, use pull quotes
to create interest for your reader.

Around
the House Ideas
Try
spraying insect repellent blends on your window and door screens
to keep the tiny bugs away.

At Home Aromatherapy Massage
Instead
of using anti-static dryer sheets, try putting three drops
of Lemon essential oil on to a damp cloth. Throw the cloth
into your dryer close to the end of the drying cycle. It will
leave your clothes smelling fresh and clean.

Keep a
laundry basket in the back of your car to keep fragile items
safe or to keep your groceries from rolling all over the car.
It is also handy to carry stuff in and out of your car.
- Bonnie Rymal, Propel
Use fabric
sheets or Swiffer sheets to dust the TV, end tables, and other
areas.

Trade
Show Ideas
Start
the day off right and create a friendly atmosphere by introducing
yourself to the exhibitors around you.
- ideas company tip
Fresh
flowers and/or plants on your table will help to create an
inviting booth.
- ideas company tip
Collect
attendee names in a fish bowl and draw for a prize.
- ideas company tip
Handout
a "Tip Sheet" at your booth. This will showcase
your expertise, the value of your products or services, and
provide visitors with valuable information.

Child
Care Ideas
To test
if a child is dehydrated lightly pinch and twist the skin
on the top of their wrist. If the skin doesn't fall back into
place quickly then they are probably dehydrated.
- Meghan Willard
If a young
child has bad breath it might be an early warning sign that
they are getting sick.

Travel
Ideas
Pack a
small first aid kit, and small sewing kit when travelling.
Also bring a list of important phone numbers.
- ideas company tip
When travelling
with a companion, put one set of your clothes in your companion's
suitcase and have them do like wise with yours. If one suitcase
is lost then you will still have something to wear.

Ideas
for when Accidents Happen
Unfortunately accidents happen and a trip to the Hospital
ER is necessary. Next time try bringing your laptop to the
hospital so kids can play games or watch their favorite DVD.
It might make the wait time seem faster.
